My background is a bit unique for a psychologist. After graduating from U.C. Berkeley with a degree in psychology, I worked for several years as head of a non-profit agency that provided skills training, on-the-job training, and vocational counseling to low income individuals. When funding disappeared, I left that work to head the HR function of a new division of a large medical electronics firm. Finally, following a calling I had felt since my teenage years, I went back to school and received my Ph.D in Clinical Psychology. I've now worked as a therapist for over 12 years.
While I've done counseling in every job I've had, the common thread of my background is a real desire to work with people in a way that helps them create lives that are meaningful and fulfilling. I have had the privilege of working with an extremely diverse group of people in my life--ethnically, socio-economically, and in terms of sexual orientation.
